About five years ago, I bought what I thought was the perfect air fryer. There were absolutely no buttons, no screens, touch or otherwise and absolutely ZERO ways to log into anything. This air fryer has two perfect controls: a slider for temperature and a large knob for a timer. Once again, the absolute perfect air fryer.
Unfortunately after five years, the knob, it's most use and most basic control, finally broke. After studying the mechanism, I noticed that the original knob was thin ABS plastic. It did its job well. I couldn't stand to part with my perfect, dumb air fryer so I decided I was going to measure it out and design a new, perfect knob for my new, perfect air fryer. In about an hour, I had my first prototype design.
A few printed iterations later, this actually became one of my favorite designs. The new knob became and large and marked improvement over it's humber predecessor. Something about the way it feels implies strenth. The grip feels perfect and I still get to continue to use my air fryer almost every day!
For reference, here is sadly
digital version. I actually can't find my dumb version anywhere, hence the need to preserve it and keep it working!
